The driving force behind Woodbridge is none other than Robert Mondavi. This legendary winemaker has been incredibly important to California viticulture. It all began in the mid-1960s, when he founded his own winery. Through continuous investment and innovation, Mondavi always stayed ahead of the competition. Today, his techniques are used throughout California. He has thus been incredibly important to the current popularity of California wines.

Zinfandel, the pride of California

After his own wines had conquered competitions worldwide, he felt it was time for a new challenge. He founded Woodbridge Winery, located near Lodi. With Woodbridge, he wanted to "bridge" the gap between his iconic, high-quality wines and wines at a more affordable price, without compromising on quality. Woodbridge wines embody quality and accessibility. True friends of all. The base for this red wine is Zinfandel, a grape that has made waves in California. It thrives in the abundant sunshine this west coast state enjoys.

A red wine from Robert Mondavi

The tropics, teeming with Zinfandel grapes, are of the highest quality. Rarely have we seen such beautiful bunches hanging in the idyllic vine-covered fields. Because the nights can cool considerably, the grapes receive ample freshness. This is fantastic for their development and creates a sweet, friendly aroma. You'll smell blackcurrant jam, as well as pepper and spice. The strong hint of vanilla reveals a distinct oak aging. The palate is surprisingly smooth and elegant. A mild wine rolls across the tongue. You'll taste ripe fruit, roasted nuts, and a hint of toast. Woodbridge Zinfandel is festive with every sip.
