The Schott Zwiesel Ivento Bordeaux wine glass, 0.63 liters, is designed for powerful, structured red wines with clear tannins. Why is a Bordeaux glass taller and slightly narrower than a Burgundy glass? Powerful wines need sufficient oxygen to open up, but also require focus so that alcohol and tannins do not overpower. The shape of this glass brings concentration and balance together.
With a capacity of 0.63 liters, this model offers ample volume for aeration without the wine losing its structure.
The Ivento Bordeaux is tailored for robust red wines with body.
- Capacity 0.63 liters: ample but controlled bowl volume.
- Taller, slightly narrower bowl: supports concentration of aromas.
- Slightly tapered rim: helps tannins feel rounder.
- Stable stem and foot: comfortable and reliable in use.
This glass is ideal for classic Bordeaux blends based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as for powerful Rioja, robust Malbec, Syrah, or Primitivo. It supports wines where structure, ripe fruit, and oak influence come together. For more refined, aromatically driven wines like Pinot Noir, the Burgundy glass in the series is more suitable.
The Ivento series is produced in Tritan® crystal glass, developed by Schott Zwiesel.
- Tritan® crystal glass: reinforced with titanium oxide and zirconium oxide for extra breakage resistance.
- Lasting brilliance: maintains transparency and shine after frequent use.
- Dishwasher safe: suitable for intensive home and hospitality use.
- Machine-produced with high precision: consistent quality within each set.
The combination of durability and clarity makes this glass suitable for regular use without losing its appearance.
The glasses are supplied in sets of 6, providing you with a uniform set for dinners or evenings with friends. Ideal when serving powerful red wines and wanting a glass that supports structure without being overly large.
For lovers of Bordeaux and similar powerful red wines, this is a logical choice within the Ivento series: sturdy, functional, and widely applicable.
