Bodegas LAN was founded in 1972. The name wasn't entirely coincidental; it's an abbreviation of the three provinces of the Rioja region: La Rioja, Alvesa, and Navarra. Bodegas LAN's vision is clear: to produce high-quality wines with the utmost respect for the grapes and nature. Therefore, LAN's vineyards are located in some of the most beautiful spots the Rioja region has to offer. This Gran Dominio Reserva Rioja is a blend of primarily Tempranillo, supplemented with Garnacha and Mazuelo. The Reserva designation is a legal designation. Wines that meet certain requirements receive this certificate. Reserva wine requires strict requirements: a red wine must be aged for at least 36 months, 12 of which must be in oak. Gran Dominio Reserva Rioja has a unique oak aging process. The juice is first aged for six months in American oak and then for another six months in French oak. This combination is ideal for Gran Dominio Reserva Rioja.
