Once the grapes have reached their perfect ripeness, they are harvested in the early morning. This is done to prevent damage to the bunches and to preserve the freshness and acidity of the grapes. The grapes are transported to El Pacto in small crates weighing no more than fifteen kilos, where each bunch is hand-harvested to ensure only the finest juice reaches the bottle. After pressing, this El Pacto Rioja is aged for a full fourteen months in both French and American oak barrels. The use of different types of oak makes this red Rioja even fuller and more powerful. It's a beautiful wine, and at this price point, it's a real gem.
The label depicts the winemakers' hands, demonstrating the handiwork involved. It's no wonder this red Rioja is a popular wine in many top restaurants. We can clearly taste the craftsmanship, expertise, and old vines in this El Pacto Rioja. The aroma is intense, with a strong emphasis on black fruit, light herbs, vanilla, and natural oak. Ripe flavors of dark red fruit have evolved into notes of compote, chocolate, oak, and spices. Elegant and pleasant, smooth and balanced with soft tannins and a lingering finish. What a gem!
