Francis Ford Coppola, founder of the Coppola Winery, has given the winemaker free rein for this Director's Series. Indeed, Francis Ford Coppola is the great director of films like The Godfather! Besides films, he has another passion: wines! In 1975, he purchased a summer home, which he transformed into the Coppola Winery. Initially, he intended to make his own wines, just like his grandfather used to. However, Francis didn't stop at a small scale. His wines are now known worldwide, and for good reason! Francis wanted to create wines for every day. The range now consists of several series, including this Director's Series.
This red wine belongs to the Director's series from Coppola Winery. The Coppola Director's series is a series of wines made exclusively from Sonoma County grapes. Winemaker Corey Beck hails from this region and knows the area's soil and climate like no other. Sonoma County is one of the few appellations with a microclimate conducive to growing cool-climate grapes like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while also allowing warm-climate grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to thrive. For this reason, the entire Director's series consists of these four grapes. Each grape produces its own distinct wine.
