Close your eyes and smell this wine; you'll feel like you're in the south of France. That's the best way to describe this red wine from Clobanel. A beautiful example of a wine from the "Sud de France" with all the beautiful characteristics of the region. Nestled in the heart of southern France, Clobanel's old vines are filled with Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah grapes. These four grape varieties thrive in the warm climate and provide the winemaker with a bountiful harvest. Harvesting at the right time is crucial for them. This is done individually for each grape variety, and the final wine is only blended later.

The old vineyards for this red Clobanel

In the warm south of France lie the old vineyards of Clobanel. The warm climate produces exceptionally ripe grapes, and thankfully, there's a breeze that blows across the hills. This wind provides cooling, resulting in a calm and balanced growing season. A lot of work is done in the vineyards to ensure the grapes receive the best possible care. This is clearly reflected in the ripe and exceptionally smooth flavor of this red Clobanel.

What does Clobanel Sud de France Red taste like?

Upon opening the bottle, it's already clear, soft, and very fruity. We immediately smell a beautiful array of fruity notes like strawberry, blackberry, and ripe cherry. These notes are also present in the glass, and if you swirl the wine, you'll also notice hints of licorice, bay leaf, rosemary, and a hint of vanilla. The taste is exactly what you'd expect from a top red wine from "Sud de France." Very soft on the palate with a rich array of fruity notes like plums, cherries, and berries. The back of the palate reveals a light spice and a touch of toffee.
