Hand harvest for Woodhaven California Cabernet Sauvignon
One of the first families to begin producing wine in California is the Idelicato family. Their first vineyard, planted with meticulous care in 1924, has ultimately earned them numerous awards. Woodhaven is a line of wines within the Delicato Family Wines portfolio. The third generation is now at the helm of several wineries. Woodhaven wines are primarily produced in the Central Valley, where the warm climate and fertile soil provide a wonderful base for Zinfandel grapes, among other grapes. Woodhaven wines are all high quality yet affordably priced. Using sustainable and modern winemaking techniques, the wines are produced with passion and expertise. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested very selectively and entirely by hand. Afterward, the grapes are transported to the winery where they are sorted and selected. Only the finest grapes are used for the final wine. The selected grapes are then destemmed and crushed to release the juice. The juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks, where it ferments for several days at controlled temperatures to achieve maximum flavor and color concentration.
