This latest addition to Wente is made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. A superb red wine with a very full character. This delicious red wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, complemented by Petit Verdot, Petit Syrah, Malbec, and Tempranillo.
A unique climate for this Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon
The vineyards where these Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grow have their own unique microclimate, well-drained soil, and an east-west orientation. These conditions give the Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon a wealth of character, depth, and intensity. Aging in stainless steel vats brings out the wine's fruitiness. The unique Wente Winery has been run by the Wente family since 1883, making them the oldest continuously managed family winery in the United States. From the very beginning, they have strived for quality and adhered to their philosophy: "American wines with a European character." This results in full-bodied, intense, and generous wines, yet with European elegance and finesse. Today, the winery is managed by the fourth and fifth generations of the family. The family owns estate vineyards in the Livermore Valley, San Francisco Bay, and Arroyo Seco, Monterey appellations. This Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is named after the vineyards located along the southern hills of the Livermore Valley. The family cultivates approximately four hundred hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards here. The vines for this red wine originate from the Margaux region. The southern hills here are perfectly exposed to the sun, allowing the grapes to take full advantage of this. The taste of the Wente Cabernet Sauvignon
On the nose, this Wente Cabernet Sauvignon has a rich aroma of black fruit, spices, and tobacco. The taste is overwhelming, deep, and powerful. A full-bodied wine with a long, smooth finish. Hints of vanilla, black fruit, tobacco, and spices. A truly superb glass! A perfect match with red meat, pasta, or grilled vegetables.Product details
