With this innovative wine, Royal Oporto showcases its creativity. Technically a ruby port, it's fermented in the same way rosé wines are made, namely with a certain amount of exposure to the skins. It's made from the two typical grape varieties, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional. As the name suggests, this port has a beautiful, bright rosé color.
The highest possible quality from Royal Oporto
Royal Oporto is part of Real Companhia Velha, a company with a long history that always strives for the highest possible quality. They own several wineries and 540 hectares of land. It is the oldest winery in Portugal. The steep slopes along the river make this a unique location for growing Port grapes. This port wine is produced in the Douro region, the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Made from casts traditionally used in the region, the vinification process is characterized by the addition of grape brandy to the must during full fermentation. The aim of this production is to attract new consumers. Royal Porto Rosé is a pink port wine produced with indigenous red grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca. After a quick pressing, the wine is fermented in oak barrels for 2 to 3 days at a controlled temperature before the brandy is added to fortify the wine. The wine then remains in stainless steel tanks for 24 months before being stabilized, filtered, and bottled. What does the Royal Oporto Rosé taste like?
The result is a striking port. With a beautiful, sparkling pink color. It boasts abundant aromas of soft red fruit and an energetic freshness. It is elegant and smooth on the palate. The flavor is once again dominated by red fruits such as cherries and strawberries. The acidity and sweetness are well balanced. The finish is long and lingering.Product details
