A fine glass of red wine from Cahors. Even though the region isn't prominently remembered, Cahors is worth a try. Full-bodied and certainly not run-of-the-mill. Unique and exuberant in quality. A friendly price, slightly less pleasant in taste. Not because the wine is bad; quite the opposite. It's distinctive and certainly not everyone's cup of tea. A perfect wine for the wine connoisseur who wants something different, yet still wants to stay within the classic realm.

A strong glass of red wine from France

Matayac makes this beautiful red wine from the Malbec grape in the Cahors wine region, the area surrounding the town of the same name. It's an extension of the Bordeaux and Bergerac regions. However, Cahors is the least known of the three. This Matayac is sure to change that. The most famous grape in Cahors is Côt. It sounds rather unfamiliar, but we all know it. It's none other than the Malbec. Everyone knows Malbec from the magnificent vineyards of Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes in Argentina. However, the birthplace of this grape is actually in France, including Cahors. The Matayac vineyards are among the oldest in the region. This means the grapes are of exceptional quality.

Why buy Matayac Cahors?

After the manual harvest, it's the winemaker's turn. With his talents, he selects the finest bunches and gets to work with them. The result is a liquid paradise, packaged in a classic bottle. Full-bodied, robust, powerful, exuberant, yet remarkably high in quality. You'll be hard-pressed to find anything better for this price. Your senses are continually tantalized by refined aromas of dark cherries, stewed fruit, and dried plums. A hint of vanilla is a delightful bonus. Matayac Cahors is not only incredibly delicious, but the wine approaches perfection, with a very warm and lush finish.
