The Rosacker vineyard is steeped in history and is dominated by limestone-rich soil. It features various colored marls and compact dolomites. This complexity of soil composition makes the site exceptionally nutrient-rich, enriched with calcium and magnesium. This unique soil contributes to the expression of the Riesling grapes that thrive here. This exceptional vineyard is 40 years old and lies at an altitude of between 260 and 330 meters. Its location contributes to the optimal ripening of the grapes, allowing them to develop the essential characteristics that give this wine its unique character.
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and carefully selected. They are then transported to the pneumatic press, where a prolonged pressing process takes place. After clarification at low temperatures, the juice begins its journey through prolonged alcoholic fermentation using wild yeasts. This natural process can last up to four months, giving the wine time to develop its complexity and depth.
The Riesling Grand Cru Rosacker Calcaire is a complex wine with a clean, taut character. The nose reveals aromas of herbs, apricot, lime, and pear, which beautifully complement each other. A hint of mandarin adds a refreshing touch to this Riesling. The palate offers a complex flavor experience with vibrant acidity that balances it beautifully.
