Vintage Report

The 2023 vintage for white wines from the Loire Valley is of excellent quality, scoring 95 points. The wines display a beautiful character and are considered exceptional.
Gibault's Le Graal is a wine produced on sandy soils on limestone plots in Les Bas Quartauts. The vineyards enjoy a south-facing location with abundant sunshine. The microclimate is perfect for the vines, ensuring that this white Gibault wine boasts beautiful aromas and a pleasant structure.

Family business Gibault

The beautiful family story of the Gibault winery begins in the early 1900s. Initially a cattle ranching family, over the generations the family has focused on the work of the vine. By the 1980s, they were devoting themselves full-time to winemaking. The focus is on fragrant wines with a bouquet of fruit and flowers. Today, Pascal Gibault is at the helm, assisted by his wife and brother. The vineyards encompass approximately 18 hectares along the banks of the Cher River. By far the largest number of hectares are planted with the Sauvignon Blanc grape, from which Pascal has mastered the art of producing perfect white wines. The grapes are selectively harvested, with only the finest grapes considered good enough for winemaking. The fruit's ripeness and health are assessed before being pressed. Therefore, a strict selection process is also conducted in the winery itself. This is followed by a lengthy vinification process at a low temperature. After temperature-controlled fermentation, aging takes place on the fine lees.

The aromas of Gibault Touraine Chenonceaux Le Graal

The Le Graal white wine shines bright and brilliant in the glass with a beautiful golden yellow color. The aromas are expressive and complex, with fruity notes of peach, apricot, and mango. This is complemented by floral notes. On the palate, this white wine is wonderfully full and slightly oily. Delicate freshness with aromatic richness.
