From vineyard to bottle

The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

A gem of a wine, this white Gruner Veltliner Spiegel Reserve Karl Steininger—yes, quite a mouthful! Spiegel is the name of the vineyard, and not just any vineyard, but one on the finest slopes. Thanks to the old vines, the Gruner Veltliner receives plenty of nourishment from the chalky soil, as well as plenty of sunshine. The cool nighttime makes this vineyard unique and allows for the production of a Reserve quality. The Karl Steininger family makes this wine with so much love, and you can taste that in the pure style of the wine.

Steininger Grüner Veltliner Spiegel is a very pure and distinctive top wine from Weingut Steininger's finest vineyard. Weingut Karl Steininger is located in Langenlois, Austria's fastest-growing wine region. Langenlois is also the country's largest wine town. The white Gruner Veltliner grape is particularly popular in this region, and it is the winery's primary focus. This grape is so popular that more than half of all the family-run wines are made from this distinctive grape. It is a family business that guarantees the delivery of perfect wines. In their "Spiegel" vineyard, for example, the careful cultivation of Austria's national grape, the Grüner Veltliner, is elevated to an art form. This forms the foundation for the creation of truly magnificent wines that have earned both Weingut Steininger and Austria its reputation as renowned wine suppliers. The winery's philosophy is to produce wines that showcase the fruit and character of the grape. They love style, where the origin of the grapes is shown through the flavors that are clear, proud and expressive.

Steininger Grüner Veltliner Spiegel is vinified using modern methods and has a bright, pale yellow color. The aroma offers a stunning bouquet of white flowers, fresh white fruit, white pepper, and a touch of gooseberry. The palate is smooth and rounded with a uniquely ripe flavor, abundant fresh notes of citrus and green pepper. The palate is full-bodied with a clean acidity on the finish. This wine pairs perfectly with asparagus, poultry, fish dishes, and Chinese cuisine.
