Rich, powerful, and classic in style: Finca Luzón Crianza 2021 is the full-bodied red wine from Bodegas Luzón's range. The combination of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon produces a blend with structure, ripe fruit, and elegant oak notes. This wine is aged for at least 12 months in oak and demonstrates how well international grapes blend with the indigenous power of Jumilla. A wine that rivals many more expensive Crianzas, with an excellent balance between accessibility and depth.
The grapes come from Jumilla, a region in southeastern Spain with a dry, sunny climate and chalky soils. The vineyards are situated at a considerable altitude, which provides cool temperatures during the night. This temperature difference promotes aroma development and preserves the natural acidity of the grapes. Jumilla's robust growing conditions make it a perfect provenance for both Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon.
After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for at least 12 months in oak barrels (barriques) , a process that gives the wine complexity and softness. The oak aging is deliberately measured so as not to overpower the ripe fruit, but rather to support it with notes of spice, vanilla, and light toast.
Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon – a powerful combination where Monastrell provides depth and spiciness, and Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and ripe black fruit.
Finca Luzón Crianza is proof that a Crianza from Jumilla can compete with the classics from Rioja or Ribera. Thanks to the combination of local expertise and modern winemaking techniques, Bodegas Luzón creates a wine that offers both power and finesse. A robust, full-bodied Spanish red wine, ideal for lovers of classic Crianzas with a modern twist.
