Winemaker Laurent Miquel is considered a star of the south, thanks to his ability to create a peerless wine from every grape variety. This is hardly surprising, as the winery boasts a long history, and today the eighth generation is at the helm of this beautiful estate. Over the years, significant investments have been made in modern winemaking techniques, new cellars, and, of course, new and existing vineyards. The secret of Laurent Miquel lies primarily in the exquisite balance of the wines, achieved through natural influences. For this red Lieu Dit Bardou Cessenon, he selects the finest vineyards, a fact reflected in the wine's name. Bardou is truly Laurent Miquel's smallest vineyard, with only 6,100 bottles produced.

Wood storage for the Lieu Dit Bardou Cessenon

The vineyard is filled with the finest Syrah grapes, which have been conditioned for decades in the rich soil structure. This allows the plants to easily absorb moisture and withstand the intense sun. Located in the Saint-Chinian region, the vineyard is characterized by powerful wines. Once the grapes have reached full ripeness, they are harvested by hand in the early morning and immediately transported to Cessenon, the town where this wine is made. After pressing, the wine is aged for fourteen months in both new and used oak barrels. This is truly a wine we will never forget. What a powerhouse!

Full and very powerful this Laurent Miquel Lieu Dit Bardou

A unique terroir, Laurent Miquel's undivided attention, oak barrel aging, and expert knowledge make Bardou a wine fit for a king. As soon as the bottle is opened, we smell the power of the Syrah grape, abundant herbs and spices, and a rich black fruit aroma. The ruby red color sparkles beautifully in the glass, creating a warm feeling. The aroma reveals the most beautiful impressions of fruit, spices, vanilla, and a hint of toast. The oak notes don't overpower the Syrah aromas. The subtle tannins are in perfect harmony with the oak. A generous and intense wine with a long finish. This luxurious wine displays all the complex characteristics of the Saint Chinian.
