This red wine from Las Condes is made from the Chilean grape variety, the Carmenere. But that's not the only thing Las Condes is proud of. The winery belongs to the Santa Carolina family. This is no stranger to Chilean viticulture, as its history dates back to 1875. That's when Mr. Luis Pereyra Cotapos founded the winery in collaboration with French winemaker Germain Bachelet. A Chilean wine with a French twist, we might say. Over the years, Las Condes has also continued to invest heavily to become one of the most modern wineries in South America. All this, while preserving traditions, makes Las Condes wines exceptionally beautiful. In 2015, Wine Enthusiast awarded this effort the title of "New World Winery of the Year." Las Condes is best known for the no-nonsense character of its wines. Soft wines at affordable prices.

Made from the Chilean Carmenere grape

Las Condes' Carmenere vineyards are located in the Central Valley wine region. A perfect landscape characterized by warm summers, cooling winds from the Andes Mountains, and relatively cool nights. This creates the perfect climate, resulting in a perfect harvest of Carmenere grapes. Harvested at night at peak ripeness, the grapes are then sorted on sorting tables at Las Condes. Only the finest grapes nurture this red wine, and the skins are allowed to ferment for up to ten days, developing its unique color and aroma.

The scent and taste of Las Condes Carmenere

Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smell a powerful aroma of fresh red and black fruit, interspersed with subtle spices. In the glass, it gleams a beautiful ruby red with a purple glow. We swirl the glass briefly and bring our nose to it. And then the fun begins: a sultry aroma of fresh cherries, blackberries, and strawberries complemented by various spices. This delicate aroma continues into the palate, leaving a velvety sensation. It has a lovely depth with plenty of ripe fruit, dominated by cherries. The finish is softer than soft and leaves a lovely aftertaste.
