From its founding in the early 1990s to the present day, Salentein has built a remarkable reputation among wine drinkers worldwide. They are synonymous with the towering quality that Argentine wines can offer. From Valle de Uco, nestled in the foothills of the Andes, founder Mijndert Pon has cultivated wine at the highest level. Thanks to his efforts back then, we can now all enjoy the dazzling quality of Salentein, which the winery has been delivering for over 30 years.

The vineyards of Salentein in Argentina

Mijndert Pon is the founder of Salentein. Together with his brother, Ben Pon, they made waves in the Dutch wine industry. His brother, Ben Pon, established the Bernardus winery in California, while Mijndert focused on Argentinian viticulture. Salentein owns vineyards up to an altitude of 1,700 meters. At this highest elevation, you not only enjoy stunning views but also the best conditions for growing grapes. The vineyards for Salentein Cabernet Franc are located at an altitude of 1,200 meters. The soil consists of coarse rock, which benefits the Cabernet Franc vines. Consequently, the grapes are of excellent quality.
