The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Three qualities define the character of this Italian cuvée: full power, elegance, and intensity. Tinazzi brings them together in an international calling card full of ripe red fruit, enveloping spices, chocolate, and licorice, with a long finish that convincingly earns its place within the Premium line.

Opera N°3 bears the broad Vino d’Italia origin and brings various Italian wine traditions together in one cuvée.

  • Location / Origin: The regional designation gives Tinazzi the freedom to unite grapes from different parts of Italy. This creates a layered style in which fresh tension, sunny ripeness, and savory depth complement each other.

The vinification is focused on deep color, concentrated fruit, and a powerful structure with beautifully rounded tannins.

  • Fermentation: After gentle pressing and destemming, 10–15 days of fermentation and maceration follow at a controlled temperature of 20–24 °C. This approach gradually builds color, ripe fruit aromas, spiciness, and tannins.

  • Alcohol percentage: With 15% alcohol, Opera N°3 has sufficient volume and power to harmoniously carry the concentrated fruit, the spices, and the long finish.

The current blend unites 3 Italian classics, each with a clear role in the end result.

  • Corvina – Italy: Corvina contributes juicy cherry fruit, fresh acids, and a refined spiciness, giving the rich blend vibrancy and aromatic tension.

  • Primitivo – Italy: Primitivo provides ripe plums, dark fruit, a generous body, and a soft, enveloping texture.

  • Sangiovese – Italy: Sangiovese adds red cherries, savory spices, fresh acids, and extra grip, giving the long finish more energy and definition.

Opera N°3 has built a particularly strong international track record over several vintages.

  • 98/100, Luca Maroni (2020 and 2021): Both vintages received the same high score; the 2021 vintage was praised for its impressive combination of concentration, suppleness, elegance, and long fruit expression.

  • 90 points, Decanter World Wine Awards (2020): A rating at the silver medal level within the official scale of this international competition.

  • Gold, Asia Wine Trophy (2019): An international gold medal for the powerful and harmonious style of Opera N°3.

  • Gold, Berliner Wine Trophy Summer (2018): Awarded by a large international expert jury during the Summer Edition of the Berliner Wine Trophy.

  • 4.1 stars, Vivino (2021): A strong rating for the exact vintage currently offered at Perfecte Wijn.

More about Tinazzi

Tinazzi was founded in 1968 in Cavaion Veronese and, under the leadership of the family, grew from a local producer into an international wine house with operations in Veneto, Puglia, and Tuscany. The acquisition of Tenuta Valleselle in 1986, Feudo Croce in 2002, and Tenuta Pian del Gallo in 2022 reflects the ongoing ambition to bring different Italian wine traditions together under one family name. Opera N°3 is a clear example of this: a carefully composed cuvée in which power and elegance are consciously linked.
