Château Roubine AC Côtes de Provence is one of France's oldest wine estates. It's located in the heart of the Var region, between Lorgues and Draguignan. The estate is led by the passionate Madame Valérie Roussel. The winery produces distinctive, pure, and distinctive wines with respect for nature.
The grapes for this Roubine Lion & Dragon Rosé are harvested early in the morning and then stored in a cold room to lower their temperature to 1°C. The grapes are then carefully selected on the sorting table and pressed, where maceration takes place for 24 hours. Quality is always paramount at the winery, so only the finest grapes are selected. This cold maceration, which is very long for a rosé, ensures maximum extraction of the aromas and the distinctive character of the grapes without losing their color. The wine is then loaded into temperature-controlled vats at a low temperature where fermentation and aging take place for six months.
The aroma reveals beautiful nuances of red berries, citrus, and strawberries. There's also a light hint of oak. The oak aroma stems from the aging of this rosé in oak barrels. The refined oakiness is also evident in the palate. Combined with subtle flavors of young red fruit and light citrus, this wine is a true gem from start to finish. A concentrated and intense wine with a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel. Fresh on the palate and a wonderfully long finish.
