The Chateau Musar 2019 is a characterful red wine from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. This vintage is a harmonious blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan, with each grape variety contributing to the complexity and unique character of the wine.
The Chateau Musar vineyards are located in the Bekaa Valley, at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. This provides an ideal microclimate with warm days and cool nights, which contributes to the slow ripening and the development of complex aromas in the grapes.
Each grape variety is fermented separately using natural yeasts in concrete vats. After fermentation, the wines are aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from the Nevers region. Following blending, the wine undergoes further bottle aging for approximately 3 years in the cellars of Chateau Musar before being released to the market. This long-term process gives the wine the opportunity to fully develop and reach its characteristic complexity.
This wine is an excellent accompaniment to spiced, southern dishes, grilled beef, and lamb. Serve the Chateau Musar 2019 at a temperature of 15-18°C for an optimal tasting experience.
Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, Chateau Musar has a rich history of dedication to winemaking. Despite the challenges of Lebanese history, including periods of conflict, the winery has consistently produced high-quality wines. Today, the family business is continued by the third generation, who maintain the tradition of passion, perseverance, and excellence.
With the Chateau Musar 2019, you are tasting not just a wine, but also the story of a family and a region determined to take the Lebanese wine tradition to new heights.
