The Barolo Classic Borgogno is made from a blend of grapes from five of the Barolo region's most prestigious vineyards: Cannubi, Cannubi San Lorenzo, Fossati, Liste, and San Pietro delle Viole. This is not just a Barolo; it is much more. It fully reflects the elegance and power of a true Barolo from the village of Barolo. After being harvested by hand, spontaneous fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. This is followed by maceration for 30 days. The wine is then aged for four years in Slavonian oak barrels, with further refinement in the bottle for six months. This classic, traditional method has been used by the long-standing Barolo family to produce a Barolo that embraces each of the distinctive characters of the Barolo region's diverse vineyards and terroirs.
Borgogno Barolo is also an honest and pure wine. Upon pouring, the beautiful garnet-red color immediately catches the eye. Then, the delightful aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, bay leaf, and dried fruit are released. What a delightful sensory experience! The flavor is phenomenal! Rich and smooth with lovely nuances of licorice, black fruit, and even a hint of rose. Thanks to the long aging, the tannins are perfectly balanced and therefore very pleasant. The finish is impressive. What suppleness!
