MegaZin Zinfandel

For this beautiful red wine, we travel to the finest vineyards in Lodi, California. That's where the MegaZin winery and vineyards are located. The old vineyards are filled with Zinfandel grapes, also known in Italy as Primitivo. These days, the vineyards produce very large clusters of Zinfandel. But this doesn't happen by chance, as MegaZin has invested heavily in recent years to make the vineyards shine even more. Thanks in part to the perfect climate, the grapes are growing like true heroes. Plenty of sunshine contributes to the ripening of the clusters. The cool wind and falling nighttime temperatures provide the right cooling, allowing the clusters to ripen long and evenly.

Wood aging for the MegaZin Zinfandel

Once the grapes reach full ripeness, they are harvested entirely by hand. Only the finest Zinfandel bunches are used in this red wine. This is followed by oak aging, which further develops the MegaZin Zinfandel and lives up to its name "Megazin." The spectacle begins as soon as the bottle is opened, as we smell enormous hints of plums, berries, vanilla, and a touch of oak. Grab a large glass so this red wine can be thoroughly swirled. Pouring reveals a beautiful, dark, almost black color. The aromas expand from the glass, starting with dark black fruit, followed quickly by notes of chocolate, vanilla, licorice, and coffee. The oak aging perfects this wine, giving it a powerful flavor of black fruit, pepper, vanilla, spices, chocolate, and tobacco. But above all, a very smooth mouthfeel.
