The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

The jewel in the crown of the Cote du Rhone, Guigal's winery. Nothing but superlatives for this stunner from Cote Rotie. The Guigal Château D'Ampuis Cote Rotie is a blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier. The grapes are sourced from Guigal's finest vineyards in the Cote Rotie region, including Le Clos, La Garde, Le Moulin, and La Viria. Each of these vineyards boasts the finest grapes. The plots are situated on a southeastern slope, ensuring the grapes are exposed to sunlight all day long. This is ideal for Syrah, which thrives best in warm, sunny conditions.

The Guigal winery was founded in 1946 in the picturesque village of Ampuis. It is a small family business that has grown over the years into a world-renowned winery in the Rhône region. Guigal cultivates its wines with the utmost respect for the environment. The winery is currently run by Philippe Guigal, the third generation of the family and the house's chief oenologist.

We could tell you that Guigal Chateau D'Ampuis Cote Rotie is a gem, but you really have to taste it. We could say a lot about it, but this is simply excellent. The grapes are harvested early in the morning to maintain the highest possible quality. After a rigorous selection process, the grapes are pressed and fermented. After this, all the juice is stored in new oak barrels. This unique Guigal wine matures in the cellars for a full 38 months. All that's left is to surprise your senses, which is sure to happen when you open Guigal Chateau D'Ampuis Cote Rotie. Herbs and bursting with dark fruit. The nose is expressive and intense. The palate is powerful, firm, and full. The tannins are present and perfectly complement this red wine. On the palate, you'll discover dried plums, blackberries, currants, and vanilla. A powerhouse of a wine that is indispensable in any wine lover's collection!
