Vincent Chansault, head winemaker at Gayda, has a deep affinity for the Syrah grape. As one of France's leading specialists, he possesses the expertise to truly bring this grape variety to life. Thanks to his excellent plots, Vincent creates unique wines based on Syrah. The Collection Syrah perfectly illustrates what the Languedoc region has to offer.
Gayda Estate: Dedication to Quality Wines
Nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Languedoc region, the Gayda winery is a symbol of tradition and innovation. When owners Tim Ford and Anthony Record decided to collaborate with winemaker Vincent Chansault in 2004, they laid the foundation for a successful partnership. The estate boasts state-of-the-art equipment while remaining true to traditional winemaking techniques. A passion for traditional grape varieties is paramount, and these are grown as naturally as possible in their diverse vineyards. With an organic approach and low yields, they have won numerous awards and prizes for their quality wines. At Gayda, grapes are harvested by hand and then cold-soaked for a week. After fermentation, 10% of the wine is aged for nine months in three-year-old oak barrels, while 90% is aged on fine lees.Domaine Gayda's Characterful Syrah Wine
The Syrah grape is known for its harmonious character, producing fruity, spicy, and finely structured wines. This red wine from Domaine Gayda is no exception, highlighting the rich qualities of this distinctive grape. Taste aromas of black pepper, licorice, rosemary, and violet. This red wine is both charming and juicy, yet velvety smooth. Its palate is long-lasting, with a freshness reminiscent of the wines of the northern Côtes du Rhône.Product details
