Deep in the heart of a desert-like landscape, where the sun shines brightly and the nights are cool, grow the Syrah grapes that form the basis for Pellegrino Rinazzo Syrah. This unique environment, with its sharp temperature differences between day and night, produces grapes that produce a soft, spicy red wine with a firm structure.

Pellegrino: A Family History Rooted in Sicily

Since 1880, the Pellegrino family has enriched Sicily with their Marsala and still wines. With three wineries spread across the island, each has its own specialty. Marsala produces the famous Marsala wine, while a more modern winery is where the still wines come to life. And on the island of Pantelleria, sweet white wines are produced from the Zibibbo, or Muscat, grape. Rinazzo Syrah grapes grow in Marsala, where sandy soils rest on a clayey subsoil. Despite the challenging conditions of the area, the Syrah grapes ripen perfectly here, developing a rich flavor and complexity. After the harvest in late summer, the grapes are carefully vinified in stainless steel tanks, where the temperature is closely controlled. This process preserves the wine's fruity character. The wine then matures for 12 months in these tanks and then for another 12 months in oak barrels, giving it additional depth and complexity.
