This is a wine that deserves a moment of reflection, as it's a refined, high-quality wine. This Poggio del Sole Bianco white wine is made from Malvasia Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Two fresh grape varieties that give this Poggio del Sole white wine a ripe character and a great deal of freshness. The man behind this truly remarkable winery is Filippo Baccalaro, a well-known figure in the Puglia wine region. He has extensive experience crafting the finest wines from Southern Italy, all at exceptional, almost unbelievable prices. This white wine from the Poggio del Sole wine series is a prime example.

The harvest for the white wine of Poggio del Sole

The old vineyards, filled with Malvasia Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, are spread throughout the wine region. This is to ensure Filippo achieves greater diversity in this white wine. And that's perfectly fine, as it's a vibrant wine with soft nuances of white and citrus fruit. The vineyards are situated at high altitude, allowing the grapes to enjoy a pleasant coolness, which we taste in this white wine. The soil in which the vines grow contains a high proportion of clay and limestone, which allows the fresh grape varieties to thrive in this soil. After a long ripening period, the grapes are carefully harvested in mid-late September. This always takes place early in the morning.

The scent and taste of the Poggio del Sole Bianco Salento

The aroma offers a vibrant bouquet of green apple, ripe pear, and a hint of passion fruit. The palate is perfectly balanced, beautifully ripe, and features abundant aromas of mandarin, red apple, and citrus peel. In short, this Poggio del Sole Bianco is the ultimate wine, especially considering its price-quality ratio.
