Grape and vinification
Nebbiolo – Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano, Neive
Nebbiolo is a late-ripening grape with high natural acidity and firm tannins. In 2016, a balanced growing season with sufficient rain in spring and a stable, warm summer ensured perfect ripeness and harmonious structure.
Fermentation takes place with controlled extraction to ensure a balance between fruit and tannin. Subsequently, the wine ages for a minimum of 50 months in accordance with the Riserva regulations, refining its structure and developing additional layers.
Character and aging potential of 2016
In the glass, this Barbaresco Riserva 2016 displays a deep garnet red color. The vintage is considered one of the best of the decade in Barbaresco, with concentration, freshness, and perfect tannin ripeness. Aromas of red fruit, roses, spices, and earthy notes are supported by a powerful yet refined structure.
Thanks to the combination of ripe tannins and lively acidity, this wine possesses exceptional aging potential and can develop further over many years.
Serve around 16–18 °C to optimally experience the balance between structure and aromatic depth.
