This sparkling red wine is truly unique and hails from the Piedmont region. It was here that Giacomo Bologna built the Braida winery's reputation. It was he who revolutionized the wine world and threw old traditions overboard in the 1980s. He invented a better method for hand selection, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging in new French oak, making him world-famous. He's also known in the region as the Barbera King of Piedmont, something he's proud of! This red wine is made from the Brachetto grape, a grape variety well-known in the region.

The old Brachetto vineyard of Braida

The Brachetto grapes come from vineyards near the town of Acqui, in the Alto Monferrato region. The climate here is perfect for growing Brachetto grapes. They enjoy ample sunshine and retain their freshness thanks to the constant fresh breeze. All grapes are harvested at peak ripeness, and this is done entirely by hand. After pressing, the fermentation process is halted by cooling. As a result, this Braida Brachetto d'Acqui contains only five and a half percent alcohol. This delicious sparkling wine is therefore light and has a pleasant character.

The scent and taste of the Brachetto d'Acqui

A Brachetto d'Acqui is quite refined and wonderfully soft and sweet. In the glass, it gleams ruby red with an orange glow. The small, delicate bubbles give this Brachetto d'Acqui a very pleasant aroma. It smells of wild strawberries and raspberries. The palate is smooth, soft, and richly sweet, again with plenty of fruit and a pleasant tingle on the tongue. Well-balanced and pleasantly sweet.
