Vintage Report
The 2021 vintage in Argentina is rated with an excellent score of 92 points. However, the wines from this year are described as irregular, even among the best producers.
The Cabernet Franc grape is a high-quality variety rarely seen in Argentina. Fortunately, Luigi Bosca knows exactly what to do with this red grape. The result is a very pleasantly robust and beautifully balanced wine.
Manual harvest for Luigi Bosca De Sangre Cabernet Franc
The Arizu family of Bodega Luigi Bosca has been making wine in Mendoza since 1901. Over the years, they have acquired extensive knowledge of the region's incredible diversity of altitudes, soils, and microclimates. Four generations later, Bodega Luigi Bosca remains a family-owned business, currently headed by Alberto Arizu Jr., one of Argentina's most respected wine figures. They are also one of Argentina's most important estates, renowned for having some of Mendoza's finest vineyards. Luigi Bosca owns seven vineyards in Mendoza, centered around the district capital of Luján de Cuyo, covering over 700 hectares. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and transported to the winery in small crates. Here, the bunches are selected and destemmed, after which they are gently pressed. The juice is cold-macerated at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius for five to seven days. The wine then ferments in small stainless steel tanks, undergoing various extraction processes. After maceration, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. The wine is then filtered and bottled, and then aged in the cellar for at least another six months before being released. What does the Luigi Bosca De Sangre Cabernet Franc taste like?
Luigi Bosca De Sangre Cabernet Franc reveals a deep, dark garnet red in the glass. The aromas are typical of the variety, with pleasant notes of licorice, spices, pink pepper, and a touch of black fruit, all well-blended by barrel aging. The palate is compact, with nerve, concentration, and excellent fluidity. It has high acidity and body, with a balanced texture and excellent roundness. The finish is long and deep, with hints of black fruit and some spice.Product details
