The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

This red wine from Pareto's Estate is made from 100 percent Zinfandel, the national grape of the United States. Zinfandel requires warmth and a long growing season so the grapes have time to fully ripen. This opportunity abounds in Monterey County, California, where the grape thrives. Zinfandel is produced in many varieties. Some are very light and elegant, while others are very full-bodied and robust. This variety is powerful and fruity with a round flavor. Deliciously juicy and with excellent acidity.

Pareto's Estate Wines winery was established in 2005. Its vineyards are located in Monterey County on California's Central Coast. This area is known for having the longest growing season in California, averaging about two weeks longer than other regions. This is due to the early morning fog and strong afternoon winds, a phenomenon the winery aptly describes as "it ruins women's hairstyles, but the grapes love it." The area is also strongly influenced by Monterey Bay in the Pacific Ocean, whose depth of over 10,000 feet helps create fog, cool air, and reliable breezes. All these conditions contribute to the development of grapes capable of delivering large fruit, vibrant aromas, and complex flavors. All of the winery's wines are so-called "Estate" wines, a term seen on many American wine labels. This indicates that the wines are 100 percent from the winery's own fields and are produced in the vineyard without any influence from others.

This Zinfandel is a dark, powerful, and fruity red wine. The palate is beautifully rounded, spicy, juicy, and slightly sweet with notes of chocolate, nuts, plums, blackberries, and pepper, paired with good acidity. A truly balanced and beautifully structured wine. Suitable for dishes featuring duck, beef, game, and lamb. It also makes an excellent barbecue wine.
