Quality wine from Quinta dos Murcas
In the heart of the Douro region, we find Quinta dos Murcas. A historic site where the first vineyard was planted in 1947. After the great success of the Esporao winery, the winery was looking to expand. And they soon found Quinta dos Murcas. Quinta dos Murcas is characterized by its eight terroirs. These are characterized by the mountains, varying altitudes, abundant sunshine, slate soils, and a unique climate. Dozens of native varietals are planted in the vineyards. The surrounding trees help maintain the balance of the ecosystem. The wide diversity of soils allows for the production of both white and red wines. The blended wine is composed of Barroca, Sousao, Tinta Roriz, Touriga franca, and Touriga Nacional grape varieties. The grapes are individually harvested by hand at peak ripeness and then taken directly to the winery. Here, the grapes are destemmed and pressed, and alcoholic fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius in granite vats. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.Enjoy the elegant Quinta dos Murças VV47
The result is an intense red wine with a complex and vibrant aroma of ripe red fruit and balsamic notes. Spicy notes also emerge, thanks to the oak aging. The palate is harmonious and elegant. Plenty of ripe tannins with balanced acidity. The fruity notes carry through to the long, lingering finish.Product details
