With great love and dedication, St. Kilian has been crafting Germany's finest wines for years. Sankt Kilian, or St. Kilian, is located in Thuringia, part of the Hildburghausen district. This modern winery employs all the latest techniques without compromising German traditions. According to St. Kilian's winemaker, it's always a quest for the perfect blend of nature, modern techniques, and expert craftsmanship. But over the years, this exceptional winery has built a strong reputation, producing the finest wines from regions including Rheinhessen every year.

The harvest of the Mainzer Domherr Kabinett

The old vineyards, nestled in the heart of Rheinhessen, are yielding the winemaker a magnificent harvest. But this doesn't happen automatically, he explains; they work hard to make all the grapes shine. During the growing season, they prune extensively to allow the grapes to soak up plenty of sunlight. Thanks to the many hours of sunshine on the prime slopes, the grapes grow superbly, resulting in thick, full bunches. The grapes are harvested early in the morning to prevent damage to the bunches and to prevent oxidation. The grapes are transported in crates to St. Kilian and then gently and immediately pressed. The ripe juice matures for several months in the cellars and fully develops, resulting in a beautiful, soft flavor with a subtle sweetness.

It's no wonder this is St. Kilian's best-selling sweet white wine, as this Mainzer Domherr from the Rheinhessen region is vibrant and incredibly smooth. It all begins upon opening the bottle, revealing beautiful notes of tropical fruit with a light hint of honey. These aromas are enhanced upon pouring, revealing nuances of red apple and sweet peach. The palate is exquisite, slightly sweet with abundant fruit notes, dominated by peaches and apricots. This white wine melts on the tongue and has a wonderful aftertaste.
