The 2022 vintage for Barossa and McLaren Vale achieved an outstanding score of 96 points. The wines are currently still youthful and tannic, indicating excellent aging potential.

The label features a 1966 Ford Falcon sedan, once the regular car of the then-red-haired winemaker! It used to be a part of this beautiful winery, as he drove this red car around the vineyards day in and day out. With this ultimate top-notch wine, they want to make sure the old Ford isn't forgotten! A classic Australian blend of ripe, smoky Shiraz (55%) with cassis-scented Cabernet Sauvignon (45%). FANTASTIC!

The Australian wines of RedHeads

In South Australia, in the town of Tanuda to be precise, we find the RedHeads Studio winery. There, the dedicated team behind RedHeads works tirelessly, from vine to bottle and beyond, to ensure the wines are always ready to be enjoyed in their prime. Quality is paramount! The Cabernet and Shiraz grapes for this red are selected from top vineyards across South Australia. Under the supervision of chief winemaker Dan Graham, they are then fermented in small vats with a regular supply of grape skins to maximize color and flavor. The wine is then aged in old oak barrels, which ensures soft and elegant flavors.

The Shiraz grapes (Syrah) from the Barossa growing region give this Australian blend spicy blackberry notes, plus slightly peppery raspberry notes from Cabernet grapes ripened in cooler locations in McLaren Vale. The Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from cooler locations in the Padthaway region, characterizes the wine with beautiful blackcurrant notes. The bouquet of this composition is rounded out by nuances of vanilla and tobacco leaf. On the palate, the RedHeads The Red Sedan Cabernet/Shiraz is full and fruity, very soft, and with beautifully integrated tannins. The wine has great depth, the ripe fruit and the restrained use of oak creating a wonderfully harmonious aroma and flavor.
