The landscape around the lake still bears the traces of ancient glaciers.
- Location / origin: The eastern shore of Lake Garda, in Veneto in Northern Italy. The wine falls under the Veneto IGT designation of origin.
- Soil: Clay-based moraine soils, formed from material left behind by glaciers.
- Climate & influences: Lake Garda has a moderating influence on temperatures in this area.
Production focuses on a soft structure and recognizable fruit.
- Fermentation: After gentle crushing, the grapes ferment for 6–8 days with the skins at 22–24 °C. During this skin contact, the wine gains its color and structure.
- Storage: The wine is kept in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and is then cold-bottled on a sterile bottling line.
The base consists of 2 grape varieties that complement each other in softness and freshness.
- Merlot – Veneto: Contributes to the soft mouthfeel and the ripe, dark fruit.
- Sangiovese – Veneto: Brings red fruit, fresh acidity, and extra structure to the blend.
