The Nebbiolo from the Langhe region of Vajra comes from young vines in their Barolo vineyards. The Vaira family dedicates their full attention not only to their Barolos, but also to their other wines, such as this Nebbiolo. This explains why this wine can be considered a "mini Barolo."

The family business GD Vajra

GD Vajra was founded in 1972 by Aldo Vajra. The initials refer to his grandfather, from whom he inherited the vineyards. He and his wife built the company with the goal of producing wines under their own label. These wines are made exclusively from their own grapes. Over the years, daughter Francesca and sons Giuseppe and Isidoro also joined the company. A remarkable family business that has built a reputation through innovation and collaboration with the University of Turin, placing it among the top Barolo wines. The grapes for this Langhe Nebbiolo were harvested between October 7th and 22nd. Fermentation lasts an average of nineteen days and is followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine then ages for an average of eight to fourteen months. It is a wide range, designed to respect the unique character of each vintage and patiently await the optimal bottling time. The majority of the aging is carried out in stainless steel vats, with a small portion of the wine aged only in neutral oak when necessary.

This Nebbiolo has a bright ruby red color. The aromas are vibrant, with a floral bouquet of rose petals, violets, and fresh berries, along with hints of dark fruit. Elegant and complex on the palate, it offers layers of crisp red fruit, orange peel, and sweet spices with earthy and mineral undertones.
