Castello di Neive Barbaresco Riserva Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano 2017, Piedmont, Italy
The Castello di Neive Barbaresco Riserva Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano 2017 comes from the historic Santo Stefano vineyard within the MGA Albesani in Neive. What does Riserva mean for Barbaresco? A Barbaresco Riserva must age for at least 50 months, of which at least 9 months are in wood, which provides extra structure, refinement, and aging potential. In combination with the warm and concentrated 2017 vintage, this results in a powerful, structured Nebbiolo with a clear personality.
This wine is made entirely from Nebbiolo and meets the stricter aging requirements of Barbaresco Riserva DOCG.

Grape and vinification
Nebbiolo – Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano, Neive
Nebbiolo is a late-ripening grape with high natural acidity and pronounced tannins. In 2017, the growing season was characterized by a warm, dry summer, which resulted in concentrated grapes with ripe tannins and intense fruit.
Fermentation takes place with controlled extraction to balance structure and fruit. Subsequently, the wine ages for a minimum of 50 months in accordance with Riserva regulations, refining and integrating the power of the vintage.
Character and aging potential of 2017
In the glass, this 2017 Barbaresco Riserva shows a deep garnet red color. The vintage is known for concentration and ripe fruit, with aromas of red and dark fruit, roses, and spicy notes. Due to the warm year, the tannins are powerful but ripe, resulting in a structured wine with clear depth.
Thanks to its firm structure and long aging, this wine has good aging potential, with further development possible in the bottle.
Serve around 16–18 °C to best appreciate its power and aromatic complexity.
