Calabria has a dubious reputation among many Dutch people, partly due to the mafia that ruled the region for decades. Fortunately, the tide has turned, and delicious wines are now being made here, including this Statti I Gelsi Rosso Calabria. The wine is friendly and approachable, with plenty of fruit notes such as cherries and plums. Ideal with a pasta dish or a rich risotto.
