One of the gems of the Care winery is this dessert wine called Care Moscatel de Alejandria. Care wines are characterized by their artistic labels, each a small work of art by artist Enrique Torrijo. Each label beautifully depicts the wine. Care is a true family business, dating back to 1932 when Mr. Añadas discovered the beautiful landscape of the Cariñena region. This was the place where he wanted to produce the finest and most affordable wines. Whether this mission would succeed was initially uncertain, but almost a century later, we can confidently say that Mr. Añadas's motto has been achieved.

Wood aging for this Care Moscatel

The grapes for this beautiful dessert wine grow in the Penanegra vineyards. These vineyards are situated at an altitude of 910 meters and were planted in the early 1950s. So, old vines. Our experience has shown that the quality of old vines is truly phenomenal. And this is certainly true for these grapes as well. What gems of grapes! The Moscatel is planted in very sunny conditions. This is certainly important for the proper ripening of these grapes, but coolness is also important. That's why the vineyard is situated at such a high altitude. Here, there is sufficient cooling from the night and the wind that blows along the hills. This also allows the Moscatel to retain a pleasant freshness. When the grapes finally reach the right ripeness, they are harvested by hand. Only the finest grapes are selected for this wine. After pressing, alcoholic fermentation takes place in Allier oak barrels. After this, this Care Moscatel de Alejandria rests on its lees for seven months.
