The 2021 vintage for South Australia (Barossa) received an excellent score of 93 points from Robert Parker. The wines from this year mature relatively early and are already quite approachable.

The Yalumba Barossa Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the beautiful wines from Yalumba's Samuel's Collection. This wine showcases both grape varieties, each easily enjoyed separately, yet they create a beautifully harmonious interplay. The aroma immediately reveals the Shiraz, with a lovely spiciness and ripe plums and cherries. This is followed by the delightful characteristics of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautiful aromas of cassis fruit are evident. The palate beautifully blends the two grapes. The familiar peppery note of the Shiraz is a subtle thread throughout the wine. Furthermore, the beautifully ripe cassis fruit is rounded out by full, rich vanilla notes from the oak aging this wine has undergone. What a gem!
