The finest Chardonnay grapes are planted in the Hawkeys Bay region of New Zealand, from which he produces, among other things, this magnificent Heartwood Chardonnay. Tony Bish is a Chardonnay legend from New Zealand. He began making his own wines in 2013 and now vinifies four different Chardonnay styles. He has a stylish winery in Napier, and just like his winery, the wines must be vinified with style. Thanks to his expertise, he creates wines that are incredibly balanced and refined. He continues to experiment with different styles and techniques, and he bottles his successful experiments into great wines. He has released the Golden Egg, Skeetfield Vineyard, Fat Sassy, and this Heartwood. The name reflects the fact that he uses only the heartwood of an old oak tree to make the barrels in which this wine ferments. The highest-quality Chardonnay grapes are harvested by hand. This ensures the highest quality even in the winery itself. They are then gently pressed at the winery. The juice is fermented and transferred to new and old French oak barrels. The wine ages for a total of 11 months before bottling.

The Heartwood Chardonnay radiates a golden yellow color in the glass. We then savor seductive aromas of mandarin, melon, peach, and lemon zest. This aroma is complemented by almond and a touch of oak. The wine is wonderfully creamy with silky notes. A full-bodied flavor with a lingering finish.
