Stemmari boasts an impressive 700 hectares of vineyards in Sicily. Because they have so many fields, they can carefully select which grapes yield best in a particular location. The Grillo grapes grow in the southeast, near the town of Acate. Here, the Stemmari Grillo grapes receive plenty of sun, often slightly more than in the north. The soil is characterized by sand and some clay, which helps the Grillo retain its freshness. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, allowing for stricter selection of the Grillo grapes. After fermentation, Stemmari Grillo is aged for another five months in stainless steel tanks.
It's entirely undeserved that Grillo hasn't yet achieved widespread recognition. The moment you pour a Stemmari Grillo, you'll know why. A wonderfully accessible glass of white wine that truly everyone will enjoy. We haven't yet found anyone who hasn't enjoyed this top-notch white wine. The nose is characterized by peach, grapefruit, honey, and almond. The palate is sublime. Plenty of fresh notes reveal themselves on your cheeks and tongue. You'll taste Granny Smith, pineapple, peach, and fresh citrus. Pair Stemmari Grillo with seafood, white meat, or veal carpaccio, for example. But above all, this white wine is the number one aperitif wine, perfect for any occasion. A crowd-pleaser from beautiful Sicily.
