The 2022 vintage in Tuscany received an excellent score of 92 points. The wines are of high quality, but can currently still be youthful and tannic.

This wine features Montalcino's most important grape, Sangiovese, in the spotlight. The result is this magnificent San Polo Rubio wine, an ode to tradition, innovation, and sublime winemaking. With every sip of San Polo Rubio, you're transported to the sun-drenched Tuscan landscape, where age-old traditions seamlessly blend with contemporary innovations.

An extensive vinification process for San Polo Rubio

San Polo is fully committed to sustainability and environmental awareness, a commitment clearly reflected in every sip of this wine. The grapes are carefully cultivated in Montalcino's unique microclimate and then transformed into a wine overflowing with character and depth. San Polo Rubio is a pleasant surprise with its vibrant fruity aromas and subtle spicy notes. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested entirely by hand at peak ripeness and then transported directly to the winery in crates. In the cellar, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing. Before fermentation, the grapes are cooled, resulting in stronger aromas and more flavor. Fermentation takes place in specially designed, conical, refrigerated stainless steel tanks to maintain a controlled fermentation temperature. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks for a further 10 months. Finally, the wine is aged in bottle for another 4 months before release.
