Weingut Polz is a winery located in Southern Styria, Austria. Founded in 1912, it is currently run by the fourth generation of the Polz family. Polz Ehrenhausen Morillon Südsteiermark is a unique white wine made from the Chardonnay grape, better known locally in this region by its Marillon name. This wine is produced in southern Austria, where the grapes are hand-harvested. Fermentation then takes place in used wooden barrels, giving the wine an extra dimension.
This elegant Chardonnay has a beautiful lemon-yellow color. The aroma reveals aromas of apple, citrus, and peach. Wonderfully fruity and light. The palate is beautifully balanced, soft and fresh, with a pleasant acidity that balances it out nicely. The mouthfeel is full and rounded, and the wine has a good length on the finish. A delicious Chardonnay that pairs perfectly with fish dishes and white meat, but can also be enjoyed as an aperitif.
