When we think of Lebanon, we think of delicious food and a beautiful country. We think much less of the wonderful wines that come from here. Why? We have no idea, because what gems come from here! Chateau Musar traces its origins back to 1930 when Gaston Hochar returned to Lebanon from Bordeaux. He had gained a lot of experience and saw potential in Lebanon as a wine country. That same year, he planted his first vineyards, with help from a winemaker friend from Bordeaux.
Rose from Lebanon
Years later, Chateau Musar's wines became a huge success worldwide. This success allowed Chateau Musar and the Hochar family to further expand the winery and launch a new line: the Musar Jeune line. A series of red, white, and rosé wines made for everyday enjoyment. This Musar Jeune Rosé is also part of the Jeune series. The Rosé is made from 100% Cinsault grapes, which have a fruity yet powerful character. The vines for this Cinsault were planted in 2000 in the Bekaa Valley at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. Here, the grapes optimally receive the sun and warmth of the day and the cool breezes of the night. What does Musar Jeune Rose taste like?
The result: a beautiful, gastronomically appealing rosé wine. Unlike most rosés, the color is dark pink. Many wine drinkers immediately associate this with a sweet rosé. This rosé certainly isn't. This Musar Jeune Rose has delightful fruity aromas of red fruit like raspberries, strawberries, and cherries. A subtle hint of spice at the back of the nose lends the rosé a certain mystery. The taste is full, fruity, and complex. The nuances of red fruit are wonderfully prominent, but are offset by a delightful strength of light herbs and a touch of rosehip. A rosé that pairs beautifully with salmon dishes or Italian pasta dishes with tomato sauce.Product details
