The Hubertuslay vineyard is situated on an extremely steep, south-facing slope. The soil is predominantly dark slate. The vines specifically for this wine are planted at the bottom of the slope. Here, the grapes ripen faster, resulting in a sweeter wine. This allows us to call this Auslese sweeter than any other Auslese. This principle is also known as Fruchsuss.
