Lunaris Chardonnay Callia

A delicious Chardonnay from the Lunaris series by Bodegas Callia in Argentina. Bodegas Callia has been a well-known and established name in our selection for years. With the expansion of the Lunaris series, they have only further strengthened their reputation, and not entirely without success – what a fantastic series! This beautiful Bodega even has a Dutch touch! After Dutch businessman Meindert Pon made Bodegas Salentein a resounding success, he focused on establishing a new Bodega: Bodegas Callia! This winery has also become one of the most renowned in Argentina.

The vineyards for this Argentinian white wine

The vineyards for this delicious Argentinian Chardonnay are located in the San Juan region, specifically in the Tulúm Valley. At an altitude of over 630 meters, the beautiful vines for this Chardonnay shine. The soil here has a fine sandy texture with a clay-loamy texture. The daytime temperature in the vineyards is wonderfully warm during the growing season. The nights are delightfully refreshing thanks to the cool breeze from the Andes Mountains. Because there is little rainfall, Callia has installed a drip irrigation system in the vineyards, using meltwater from the Andes. All these factors ensure a calm and balanced growing season for the grapes. When the grapes for this Lunaris wine are ripe, they are harvested mechanically. Once arrived at the winery, a strict selection process takes place on long tables to determine which bunches are suitable for pressing. After the vinification process, the wine is bottled and will age in the bottle for two months in Callia's cellars.

After all this effort, the wine is ready to be judged. And that's exactly what we can hardly wait for! Once poured into the glass, we see a beautiful straw-yellow color, characteristic of a Chardonnay. In the nose of this Lunaris Chardonnay, we noted aromas of banana and pineapple, combined with vanilla. The taste is truly beautiful, round and refined! Beautiful hints of tropical fruit, a touch of vanilla, and peach! The finish of this Lunaris Chardonnay by Callia is exceptionally smooth! A celebration from start to finish.
