Lingot Martin Vin Rosé Pétillant MAGNUM 1.5 Liter
Lingot Martin Vin Rosé Pétillant MAGNUM 1.5 Liter is a lightly sparkling rosé for festive moments when you want to serve something fruity, easy-drinking, and remarkably light. In magnum format, this style truly shines at the table or as an aperitif with multiple guests. Its unique character begins in the cellar, where Gamay is pressed immediately after harvest, and the delicate mousse develops naturally. What is méthode ancestrale? It's a traditional method of making sparkling wine where a partially fermented wine continues its natural effervescence in the bottle.
Vineyards and Region
Its origin lies in a cool and hilly part of Eastern France, where altitude and relief greatly influence the wine's style.
- Location / Origin: Lingot Martin operates from Poncin in the Ain department, a few kilometers from Cerdon, in the heart of the Cerdonnais vineyard area. This places this wine within the broader Bugey context, on the axis between Lyon and Geneva.
- Altitude: The vineyards for this style are located between 300 and 1,000 meters in altitude. This cool location helps preserve freshness and lightness in the wine.
- Soil: The slopes are argilo-calcaire, meaning they are composed of clay and limestone. This provides a strong base for grapes that need to retain freshness and tension.
- Exposure: The vineyards are situated on steep slopes with favorable sun orientation, allowing the grapes in this cooler region to ripen beautifully.
Vinification and Aging
The viticulture and cellar approach here are entirely focused on light mousse, juicy fruit, and a soft, friendly style.
- Harvest & Selection: The Gamay is pressed immediately after picking. This keeps the color a delicate rosé and gives the wine its light, bright fruit expression.
- Fermentation: Fermentation begins in tanks under cool conditions and is deliberately stopped early. The wine then continues its natural effervescence in the bottle, creating a soft mousse, residual sweetness, and a very unique, playful style.
- Bottle Finishing: After several months of bottle aging, the wine is transferred under pressure and re-sealed, ensuring the natural mousse is preserved and the wine is clear and ready to serve.
- Alcohol Percentage: At 8% alcohol, this rosé pétillant remains exceptionally light and smooth. This makes it a perfect accompaniment to an aperitif, a festive lunch, or a dessert with red fruit.
Grape Composition
This wine relies entirely on a single grape, which is precisely what gives it its playful fruit and light structure.
- Gamay – France: Gamay forms the complete base here, giving the wine its red fruit notes, soft mousse, and charming, approachable style.
Tasting Notes and Serving Suggestions
Light rosé in the glass, with a lively nose of raspberry and other red fruits. On the palate, it is softly sparkling, fruity, and lightly sweet, with a playful mousse and a smooth, enticing character. The finish remains fresh, cheerful, and very easy to drink.
- Serving Temperature: 6–8 °C works best here, as this range keeps the red fruit fresh and allows the mousse to appear lively and crisp.
- Dishes: Strawberries, raspberries, sorbet, bavarois, fruit pastries, and an aperitif moment without heavy food pair beautifully with this wine, as it brings gentle sweetness and plenty of fruit.
