Because Bourdic is a large-scale cooperative, it has extensive vineyards at its disposal. The grapes for all its wines, including this Les Collines Viognier, are grown on a whopping 1,600 hectares. Viognier originates in the Cotes du Rhone, located slightly further north. Bourdic's winegrowers discovered that this aromatic, generous wine also thrives in vineyards near the Mediterranean. In 1993, they were among the first to plant this beloved grape on a large scale. The result is this phenomenal white wine.
While this Bourdic white wine is also delicious as an aperitif, it also pairs well with a variety of distinctive dishes. If you have scallops, shellfish, or grilled fish on the menu, a bottle of Les Collines du Bourdic Viognier is essential. It is exuberant, expressive, and aromatic. Your senses will slowly fall in love with this delicious white wine. You'll smell and taste distinctly ripe peaches and soft apricots. Nuances of exotic fruit complete the wine. The balanced character of this Viognier is almost iconic.
