Kleindal's success lies in the location of its vineyards. The vineyards are situated around the medium-sized town of Robertson, located approximately 160 kilometers from Cape Town. The town was founded in 1853 by the minister William Robertson. Thanks to its favorable location on the Breede River, several wineries have also found their way to Robertson.
