Guillaume Grenache Rose

What a beautiful rosé this is from rosé winery Guillaume! The winemaker at this renowned Pays d'Oc estate uses Grenache grapes for this rosé. The old vines are planted in chalky and gravelly soil, which contributes to the beautiful style of this wine. The Grenache grapes receive plenty of sunshine, which promotes excellent ripening. However, to preserve the natural freshness of the grapes, the winemaker planted the vineyard a bit higher. This elevation allows for greater wind resistance, providing more cooling during the warm summers of southern France. At night, the temperature drops, also cooling the Grenache grapes. All in all, all conditions are ideal for producing a classy rosé.

The best rosé wine from Guillaume

Once the Grenache grapes have reached the perfect ripeness for a rosé, they are brought indoors overnight. This preserves their freshness, which translates into the beautifully refreshing taste. Upon arrival at Guillaume's winery, the grapes are sorted. Only the best bunches are pressed, and the skins are aged for just 30 minutes to develop the beautiful light pink color. The color is comparable to a Provence rosé.

As soon as the bottle cap pops open, our minds are transported to the south of France. We immediately smell a sunny aroma of strawberry, raspberry, grapefruit, and a hint of pomegranate. The palate is fresh and dry with ripe notes of red fruit, peach, citrus peel, and a hint of pink candy. The finish is very smooth with a refreshing aftertaste where the red fruit takes center stage.
